Entrepreneurship is a Self-Taught Skill

If you can figure out work and you can figure out family, you will be happy in life. Because that’s all there is to life, work and family.

A week ago in Reaching My Dreams, I said I’ll share a piece from the book I’m working on. I’m a man of my word. Below you’ll find a small piece from the book. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing it. I can’t wait to finish the book and share all of it with you all.

Figuring out what you want to do with your life is a journey unto itself. Some people spend their entire lives searching for what they want out of life, only to realize that the life they lived was the life they wanted. It’s funny how things turn out. I always say, things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out. And that’s so true. Finding happiness in work is really about finding the work you want to do. Sometimes searching for it will leave you empty handed. It’s then you realize you have to create the work you want. That’s what I’m doing here, creating the job I always wanted. I spent years looking for this moment, the moment I realized that I can spend the rest of my life doing the job of my dreams. I didn’t know how to find out the job, the work I wanted, was something I could create. They don’t teach that stuff in school. They teach you only how to work for someone else. Entrepreneurship is a self-taught skill. You have to love what you’re doing to be an entrepreneur. I love being my own boss. I love making my own schedule, I love to write. With all that love for something I’m doing, there is no reason not to be happy at work, because I’m really not working at all. It’s been said that if you can get a job doing something you love you’ll never work a day in your life.

Thanks for sticking with me and reading along as I take a journey in figuring out work and family. I couldn’t be happier with the progress I’m getting with the book. It’s still a good distance from being finished but I am still shooting to have it written by summer.

I hope you reach your dreams and I hope you figure out work. Love what you do and what you do will love you back. It’s possible to be happy, you just need to make the choice. Be happy.

Next week, I think I’ll share a bit about figuring out family. I think I have that one figured out too. I’ll share how I came up with the name for my daughter, Keisha Destiny Parish.

Enjoy your time, enjoy your work and especially, enjoy your family because that’s all there is to life, work and family. Where does one find the time?
